Restoring beauty to our Churches...
The Catholic church is renowned historically for its great art.
It was because of this, that as a child I developed an innate love of form and beauty. I would look up into the huge ceiling Vault of St. Matthews church during Mass, and my mind would be uplifted to thoughts of painting heaven there, so that others may be able to imagine it.
Since then, many church interiors have lost their sense of wonder, and I felt the call to redress this loss for our future generations.
My husband David partners me in this, and together our aim is simply to restore the dignity and beauty of religious artworks.
After qualifying in Sculpture and Design,
I worked freelance before my marriage to David.
After much prayer, and Inspired by the letter of Saint Pope John Paul to Artists, I discerned that I was to apply my skills to the service of the church. Shortly after came the beginning of "Lewis and Lewis."
Mrs. Jeanette Lewis (Bachelor of Art and Design)
As a time- served traditional upholsterer, I work with wood, metal and textiles.
Sharing the same Catholic faith and creative interests means that Jeanette and I work well together.
It is always a pleasure to meet clients and help them achieve their goals.
