New Arrivals - two sacred heart statues to be restored in time for the feast of the Sacred Heart in June...
Before beginning restoration, one of the first things I do take some photographs. I can then refer to these for reference should I need to replicate specific details.
The 21 inch statue was brought to me on behalf of a friend; it had a few chips to be repaired, the paintwork was scuffed and needed a deep clean. My client wasn't too keen on the daisy-like decoration on the mantle.
He was right, it was too heavily painted for the scale of the figure - so I came up with a new solution.
(I quite liked that the original lining to the mantle was pink ....but my client preferred something more golden in colour; very British!) The face has been repainted to replicate the original, but with a little more definition.
I do hope he likes it!
With the small one done and dusted...I can now roll up my sleeves and get to work on the "Big guy!"
