Jeanette Lewis is a Catholic fine artist and designer. She founded her studio in 2010 after discerning a call to apply her creative talents in the service of the church.
As a child she was introduced to the family devotion to Our Lady of Perpetual Succour. On visits to the lady chapel (where the image was displayed) she experienced the potential of Holy imagery to take us beyond the layers of paint, to contemplate the higher things of God.
Later sources of inspiration were European medieval artworks and masterpieces of Spanish and Italian poly chrome, and the paintings of the pre-raphaelites; whose influence is echoed in the stained glass and interiors of many churches.
Assisted by husband David, she has undertook commissions for Birmingham Oratory, Manchester Oratory, St. Chad's cathedral, the Bar convent, Loreto College and Oscott Seminary.
