CHURCH STATUE RESTORATION
REREDOS
David assembles the new oak Reredos we designed and built for St. Marys Catholic church Oswaldtwistle.
Jeanette painted two side panels with angels to echo the existing side altar of the Sacred Heart situated on the far side of the main sanctuary.
The central statue of the virgin and child was fire damaged, and also restored by Jeanette and David.

This oak reredos and altar was salvaged by our client from a small chapel now closed in the Huncoat area.
David removed the broken tabernacle and replaced it with a canopied apse and plinth to house a statue of the Virgin Mary and child Jesus. He also made and fitted new altar top, as the previous had been damaged. Missing details such as Finials were replaced, and the brass wheat sheaves to the altar front cleaned and re-painted gold, along with rebated edge details of the canopy.
