CHURCH STATUE RESTORATION

Ornate statuary
Many antique statues have had their fading decoration overpainted rather than restored, as the art of polychrome statuary waned with the introduction of modern concepts about art, beauty. For this reason we retain any signatures or labelling found as work progresses, as these are relevant to church historical records.
This page shows examples of completed works with their original decoration either restored or re-interpreted.
When required, we design new decorative schemes for statuary which fit with church interiors. These are priced according to the amount and type of decoration desired. Examples of these are included on this page.
