Our Lady

We have restored many statues of Our Blessed Mother Mary, from traditional to modern renderings -too many to include on site. We hope you will enjoy viewing the few examples we have included here. More of our works can be viewed on instagram.

Our Lady of the Assumption statue restored for Catholic church in Essex.
Originally from the Olot region of Spain; an older statue made of bonded fibre glass resin, featuring glass eyes.

Our Lady of Lourdes 60 inches tall, carved wood statue. Circa1850 Possibly by Meyers of Munich.
For Church of Saint Peter in Chains, London.

Hand painted border to her veil shown before and after restoration. The inner gown is gilded with Marian motifs throughout. The figure had been sprayed with unsuitable varnish, which had turned brown with age This was carefully removed and the statue completely re-decorated as the original.

Contemporary carved wood Virgin and child 33 inches in height. Circa 1960 -80 possibly by studio Demetz. Restored for private client.

The painted surface of this statue had deteriorated to a degree that it had lost its adhesion. The figure was re-painted to replicate the original, and ensure all surfaces were stable.

We are happy when we find the face of the virgin is beautifully painted, though too often we find it has been done carelessly. Mary's face was the first Jesus gazed upon when he came into this world, and so it should be done with care.

Although each artist's ideal of beauty may differ, we paint her features according to the anatomy the artist has provided.
